Security & privacy
Your statements are processed, then gone
Financial statements are sensitive by nature. Here’s exactly what happens to a file you upload, what we keep, and what we never do with it.
Principles
How Ledgerary treats your data
Files are auto-deleted after processing
Your statement PDF is used only to run the extraction job. Once the job finishes, the source file is deleted — we don't retain a copy of the document you uploaded.
Encrypted in transit
Every upload and API call runs over HTTPS/TLS. Your account, extraction results and API usage data live in an encrypted Postgres database (Supabase) with access restricted to what's needed to operate the Service.
Your statements don't train models
We don't use the content of statements you upload to train models for other customers, and we don't sell your data.
Every job is honest about confidence
We verify opening balance + net movement = closing balance on every job, and attach a confidence score. A failed check or a low score is shown to you, not smoothed over — see /how-it-works for the full flow.
API keys stored hashed
API keys are stored hashed, never in plaintext, and can be rotated or revoked instantly from your account if one is ever exposed.
No PHI, no advice
Ledgerary is a document-conversion tool: it extracts the data already present in the files you upload. It is not accounting, tax, lending or financial advice. Automated extraction can misread low-quality scans — always review the results (Ledgerary flags a balance mismatch and a confidence score on every job) before you rely on them.
FAQ
Security questions
Do you keep a copy of my statement PDF?
No. Your uploaded file is used to run the extraction and then deleted — it isn't archived on our servers.
What data do you keep?
We keep the structured extraction result (transactions, totals, balance check, confidence score) in your account so you can re-download or re-export it, plus your account and billing details. The source PDF itself is not retained.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes — all traffic to and from Ledgerary runs over HTTPS/TLS, and stored data lives in an encrypted Postgres database with restricted access.
Do you use my statements to train AI models?
No. We don't use the content of the statements you upload to train models, for us or anyone else.
Is Ledgerary regulated as a financial institution?
No — Ledgerary is a document-conversion tool. It doesn't hold funds, move money, or provide financial, accounting, tax or lending advice.
